Tourist Attractions Hotel Ajax is situated in the
heart of Amsterdam's city center. Most of the main tourist attractions
in the centre are within walking distance from the hotel.
Museums and historical buildings
The most famous museums in the surrounding of Hotel Ajax are the Van
Gogh museum, the Anne Frank House, Madame Tussaud's, the Dutch Maritime
Museum, the Jewish Historical Museum, Rembrandt House, the Royal Palace
and the famous Rijksmuseum with many artworks of Holland's best known
artist Rembrandt.
Also the Amsterdam Diamond centre and the Heineken brewery are
definitely worth visiting and are easy to reach by a short walk.
In Spui street next to the hotel the beautiful Old Lutheran Church can
be found, which was built in the 17th century. The largest synagogue of
old Amsterdam is also easily reached by a short walk. (In our hotel is
also possible to order kosher breakfast.)
Nightlife Because of Hotel Ajax's excellent location, you are only a few
steps away from the nicest pubs, bars, casinos, discotheques and
coffee-shops on Damsquare, Rembrandtsquare and Amsterdam's oldest city
quarter, the Red Light District. |
Bus trips in the Netherlands, Canal Cruises
At the reception there's also the possibility to make reservations for
bus trips. These buses will take you to famous tourist attractions in
the other parts of Holland like Madurodam, Volendam (wind mills and
clogs), the Zaanse Schans, Efteling Family Park, Gouda (cheese market).
At our reception there is the option to reserve a canal cruise. There
are many different cruises; day or night cruises, but also disco-cruises
and even a dinner-cruise can be made. This is also the optimum way to
see Amsterdam's large and busy harbour. |

finding your way in Amsterdam.
By car
Drive to the Ring A10, direction 'Amsterdam'. Then follow 'Centrum'
boards. After you get off the highway you ask for the 'Rembrandt Square',
which is very close to the hotel. We're located at the Rokin street
which connects Rembrandt Square to Dam Square.
From Schiphol Airport
By shuttle bus: The shuttle can be found near the main entrance of
Schiphol Airport, with the name 'Connexxion Shiphol Hotel Shuttle'
written on a blue van. The daily frequent shuttle takes the guests from
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to directly to our hotel between 06.00 a.m.
and 21.00 p.m. The coaches leave Amsterdam Schiphol Airport every 10
minutes from platform A7. You will never have to wait longer then 30
minutes.
By train: The train departs every 15 minutes and the trip will take
about twenty minutes.
Once you arrive at the Central Station, the trams 4,9,16, 24, 25 can be
used for reaching the hotel. It will in fact take you only two stops/ 3
minutes before you arrive at the stop called 'Rokin', where you can step
out. Crossing the street, Hotel Ajax will be right in front of you.
By taxi: We suggest that you agree on the price of the journey
beforehand if you want to make sure you are not taken advantage of. |
